Co-Founder Terri Hall’s Top 5 for Mommy and Baby

What products would you use if you LITERALLY had your pick of all the best green beauty in the world? I pretty much always want to ask Integrity Botanicals co-founder Terri Hall what she’s loving at any given moment, as she has impeccable taste and does the most thorough research into products’ safety and efficacy. As she is getting ready to have her second baby any day now, I thought it would be a perfect time to see what she’s loving, both for her own body and for stocking up in preparation for her new baby!  And to share her picks with you all, of course!

Terri and her husband, and Integrity Botanicals co-founder, Marc, are not only expecting baby #2 to join their adorable and sweet 5 1/2-year-old, Jackson, but the soon-to-be family of four is looking to buy a new house. Pair that with their family business growing— Integrity Botanicals just hired a new team-member and is moving to a new, bigger space as of July— and there is so much going on right now! What better time to utilize the benefits of body care products, from soothing aromatherapy to the self-care rituals of moisturizing with face and body oils, and to slow down for a few moments every day to indulge in them. (And, on the topic of aromatherapy and products to use during pregnancy, I highly recommend Osmia Organics’ Dr. Sarah Villafranco’s recent guest post,  “A Guide to Essential Oils in Pregnancy,” which is really helpful if you have questions about what is safe.)

Luckily, Terri has access to all the feel-good-look-good, healthy products a body can absorb, and here she shares with us her top 5 picks for Mommy AND her top 5 for Baby, too!

MOMMY:

Terri’s Pregnancy Essentials

pregnancy essentials

De Mamiel Pregnancy Facial Oil – “Love the aromatherapy blend of this oil (very soothing, calming and harmonious), its silky texture and how smooth it makes my skin feel. It makes me glow! I love that this oil is also specifically formulated for pregnancy related concerns – hormonal and reactive skin, safety and aromatherapy benefits.”

La Bella Figura Decouverte Under Eye Repair Serum – “My absolute favorite eye serum for reducing dark circles and puffiness (not only during pregnancy!). This has been especially helpful in my 3rd trimester with being extremely tired from not getting good sleep at night, due to being uncomfortable and my mind racing about all the things I need to do to prepare for our sweet baby’s arrival.”

Zoe Organics Belly Butter – “My go-to product towards the end of my 2nd Trimester when my belly suddenly started growing fast and became dry and itchy. It is still my go-to in my 3rd trimester. Highly recommend this product for later stages in pregnancy.”

Babo Botanicals Skin Repair Nutri-Firm Stretch Mark Oil – “I started using this oil in my 2nd Trimester when I suddenly noticed stretch marks creep up on the sides of my belly.  Eek! This seemed to help a lot and I don’t notice them anymore in my final trimester. I love how this absorbs nicely into the skin too without any greasy after feel.  It has a very neutral scent, which I love so I can wear my favorite perfume or body oil on the rest of my body.”

Kosmatology Lotion Bar –  “This has been my travel essential during all stages of pregnancy. I love the uplifting and fresh Goody-Grapefruit scent! It’s an all-around great product for moisturizing and relieving dry or itchy skin, not just for my growing belly but as an all-over multi-tasking body product for on the go!”

BABY:

Newborn Essentials

Babo Botanicals Sensitive Baby Fragrance Free Newborn Foam Shampoo & Wash – “I love that this wash dispenses as a foam, making it super easy to wash a newborn’s delicate skin with just the use of my hands; no wash cloth required.  I also like that this is fragrance free. I used the Zoe Organics Bath Wash with our first son when he was a baby (Jackson, who is now 5 ½) and also love this for some of the same reasons – ease of use for a newborn and washing, it’s moisturizing and softening properties as well as its delicate scent (scented with mandarin and lavender essential oils).”

Babo Botanicals Clear Zinc Sport Stick – Fragrance Free – “I used this daily with Jackson when he was born in California and will have this SPF stick handy for our newborn who is due this summer, on June 20th. We are now living in NJ and this is a must-have for the summer months. This is stick is super easy to apply to small areas, doesn’t tug on skin and convenient to throw in the purse.”

Zoe Organics Baby Oil – “I love the calming scent of this baby oil (thanks to lavender and chamomile) and how nicely it absorbs. It also makes baby’s skin feel so soft!  I used this with Jackson and will use this again with our new little one on the way.”

Zoe Organics Diaper Balm ” I used this diaper balm for every diaper change with Jackson when he was a newborn and throughout his diaper years.  I can honestly say that he only had a diaper rash a few times.”

Babo Botanicals Sensitive Baby Zinc Diaper Cream – Fragrance Free – “I’m keeping this handy for any diaper rash that may flare up.  I used the Babo Botanicals Soothing Diaper Cream with Jackson and looking forward to trying the fragrance free version with our newborn baby.  I love the scent of Babo’s Soothing version (Oatmilk & Calendula), however, for a newborn’s sensitive skin, I’d prefer to try this, since it’s fragrance free, at least in the very beginning if needed.”

I just love all of Terri’s picks! And good news: a lot of the products she mentioned are available in travel/trial sizes, so you can test them out and see if they work for you. I’m also a big fan of using these products while not pregnant, as they can be great for sensitive skin!

And for those of you wondering, Terri and Marc have chosen to be surprised by the new baby’s sex, as they were when Jackson was born. What a fun surprise! My husband and I were surprised with our first baby, and the moment my husband told me we had a daughter is one I will remember forever!

Comment below to leave a product recommendation for Terri, or to send the family good wishes! And tell us a story of your baby’s arrival and the products you couldn’t live without during pregnancy. (For me it was everything One Love Organics  and Vapour Organic Beauty when I was pregnant! Ah, memories!)
