3 Ingredients For Under Eye Health

Green Coffee Beans

A friend of mine used to tell me she looked forward to fine lines appearing around her eyes because it would mean she’d lived well and smiled a lot. While I adore this positive outlook on the inevitable aging process we all go through in life, I’d like to keep my eyes as fresh and firm looking for as long as possible. Maybe that’s vain in comparison to my friend’s outlook, but hey—I think you can enjoy life and age as gracefully as possible.

One of the first areas we typically begin to show our years is around the eyes, where the skin is delicate and thin compared to the rest of the face. While there are ample oils and ingredients that assist in healthy skin, I’d like to highlight a few special botanicals that go a long way in keeping that delicate under eye area looking fresh and bright.

Look for the following three ingredients in your eye care products…

Eyebright — Its name says it all. This astringent herb is so beneficial to the eyes because it helps the thin, fragile skin around the eyes appear more tightened and smooth. It’s an anti-inflammatory rich with flavenol antioxidants that protect skin cells and stimulate collagen production. If you want brighter and smoother skin under the eyes, look for eyebright in the following products…

Fennel — Known for its ability to decrease puffiness and dark circles due to its diuretic properties and high levels of antioxidants, fennel is a must-have in eye care products if you suffer from routine puffy eyes. It stimulates microcirculation, which helps with dark circles, and it boosts collagen production thanks to the abundance of vitamin C and amino acids like Arginine, which help revitalize and prevent premature aging of skin tissue. Look for fennel in the following eye products…

Green coffee bean oil — One of the most concentrated natural antioxidants comes from green, unroasted, cold-pressed coffee beans. Green coffee bean oil’s high levels of polyphenols, chlorogenic acid and ferulic acid fight free radicals and reduce free radical damage while promoting rapid cell regeneration. This superstar anti-aging ingredient has the ability to increase production of collagen and elastin and to protect against the loss of moisture—all things we want and need, and it’s available in the following eye care products…

Have you tried any of these 3 ingredients for under eye health? What’s worked well for you?
