MUN No. 7 Ayour Body Toning Serum

There are some brands I love so much that it feels like Christmas when a new product drops, and MUN is one of them. Last summer at a Night For Green Beauty in Chicago, I spent time chatting with the founder Munemi Imai and her small but passionate team about the amazing botanical oils that come from Morocco and how these oils had inspired them to create a new product to add to their line—a body oil! For those who don’t know, the MUN No. 1 Aknari Brightening Youth Serum and the No. 11 Anarose Toner are two of my favorite products. They are beautiful and pure treatments made with high quality ingredients, and most importantly—they work. Needless to say, when I heard MUN was launching a body oil, I couldn’t wait to try it.

The MUN No.7 Ayour Body Toning Serum was worth the wait. Four botanical oils makeup the composition of this blend, and each is a powerhouse of skin-loving nutrients in its own right. Together, they form an active, lightweight but highly moisturizing body serum that feels heavenly to wear. The stars of this formula include organic Moroccan olive oil, cucumber seed oil, rosehip seed oil and prickly pear seed oil. Specifically, the organic olive oil is what Munemi and her team were so excited about when we spoke last summer. It contains a rare and potent polyphenol compound that provides a wealth of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits, and apparently it’s absolutely delicious. For the purposes of this body oil, it’s a total delight. It’s not heavy or greasy in the least—it’s light and absorbent. The prickly pear and rosehip oils—two of my all-time favorite ingredients for skin health—add restorative, brightening benefits to the oil.

The most unusual ingredient in the MUN No. 7 Ayour Body Toning Serum is cucumber seed oil. Have you ever tried that age-old beauty DIY and placed cooling cucumber slices over your eyes to soothe and reduce puffiness? Cucumber seed oil is rich in omega-6 fatty acids and vitamins B1 and C, in particular. It’s prized for its ability to detoxify the skin, help retain moisture, and ward off free radicals. It feels especially nice on skin during the warm summer days, and certainly after too much sun. The No. 7 Ayour Body Toning Serum makes a gorgeous daily moisturizer or after sun treatment. I love to massage it in while my skin is still damp from showering. The absorption time is incredibly fast, and the formula leaves skin feeling perfectly balanced. Did I mention it smells lovely? There is a hint of cucumber, and then lavender, frankincense, neroli and marjoram give the blend a slightly minty, beautifully fresh fragrance.

After much anticipation, I’m happy to say the No. 7 Ayour Body Toning Serum is a dreamy addition to the MUN collection that brings the same level of care and nourishment to the body as MUN’s facial products.
