Introducing Lotus Wei

With flower essences and therapeutic essential oils at the heart of their products, Lotus Wei is a healing and transformative line on multiple levels.

There’s a lot to choose from, including the “mood” you’d like to address or enhance as well as the delivery method. You can choose to take flower elixirs internally, spritz on an energy mist, massage in a balancing serum or apply a natural perfume.

I’ve been using the Mini Serum Collection and the Mini Mist Collection as well as perfume samples over the last week, acquainting myself more thoroughly with this beautiful line. I’ve also been taking the Radiant Energy Flower Elixir regularly along with the Quiet Mind Flower Elixir in the evenings. In the past I’ve used the Lotus Wei Infinite Love Flower Elixir, as well as other flower essences, with great results. Though these products influence your mood and well being upon use, they do really begin to show their true potential after you’ve been using them consistently for some time. (See my interview with Lotus Wei founder, Katie Hess, for the details on how to incorporate Lotus Wei flower essences into your day.)

Flower Elixirs. One thing I’ve found interesting is that I gravitate toward the “moods” or essences that I need most at the time. Have you ever had a craving for a certain food and realized that it’s not just your appetite at work; your body is actually telling you that you’re deficient in something? I get the same sense with Lotus Wei’s line, and I’ve been leaning on the Radiant Energy Flower Elixir in particular, taking it 5 times per day for the last week. Interestingly, I chose to start this elixir during an extremely busy week where the stakes are high for a project I’m working on. The Radiant Energy elixir has really helped me push through without feeling stressed in the least, and taking the Quiet Mind elixir in the evenings has helped me settle down, stop thinking so much and get some good rest. The elixirs taste delicious, too.

Energy Mists. These gentle hydrosols are a blend of organic essential oils, flower essences and a gemstone essence that work synergistically to shift your mood and physiology. It’s really tough to choose a favorite here, as they are all so useful and easy to incorporate into a busy day. I always have time for a quick spritz, and I’ve been toting around the entire Mini Collection and using these mists liberally throughout my day, making life smell and feel sweeter with each mist. The scents are well balanced and have an instant transformative effect on any moment thanks to the therapeutic essential oils. Joy Juice (Blood Orange + Marigold) and Inspired Action (Pink Pepper + Cardamom) have been in heavy rotation for me this week, as well as Infinite Love (Honey + Rose).

Balancing Serums. If you are someone who enjoys the ritual of self-massage, even in brief doses, you will adore the Lotus Wei Balancing Serums. They spread and absorb easily, and they are each comprised of calendula-infused safflower oil, vitamin E, five hand-collected flower essences, a gemstone essence, and organic essential oils. I’ve been massaging the Radiant Energy serum onto my stomach as per Katie’s advice in order to help balance my system and alleviate any PMS symptoms. I’ve also come to enjoy the Inner Peace serum in the evenings, using it just before bed to set myself up for restful sleep. Though I haven’t been using the Radiant Energy long enough to see how it impacts my cycle, I’ve been sleeping like a baby thanks to the Inner Peace serum and Quiet Mind elixir.

Natural Perfumes. The Lotus Wei perfumes are the icing on the cake for me. Infinite Love Perfume was the first product I tried from this line, and it led me straight to the Infinite Love elixir and serum. It’s instantly uplifting and comforting with it’s honeyed rose and red mandarin scent. The perfumes are set into a base of organic grape alcohol and include Lotus Wei’s signature flower essences, so not only will you smell pretty, you’ll get the benefits of the essences, too. I mentioned gravitating toward the Radiant Energy products, and the Radiant Energy perfume is no exception. Neroli, piñon, sandalwood and clary sage add up to a beautiful scent with sweet orange and woodsy notes. The Lotus Wei perfumes are a great entry point for anyone new to flower essences.
